Volunteer
The Heather Cutler Foundation is volunteer-led — every event, every post, every grant happens because people give their time. We are looking for people who want to make a difference in their community. Tell us what you are interested in, and we will find the work that fits — many opportunities are virtual, so you can help from wherever you live.
We believe volunteering should benefit the volunteer as much as the foundation.
That is why we do not slot people into fixed roles. We start with your interests, your skills, and what you would like to get out of the experience — experience for a career you are building, a skill you want to learn, a cause you want to stand behind — and we work to place you where those goals meet work that matters.
If a placement is not giving you anything back, we want to know, and we will find a better fit together.
Many opportunities are virtual: writing, research, design, data work, and coordination all happen online, and volunteers contribute from wherever they live. Some roles are in person at events in Atlantic Canada — the form lets you tell us which suits you.
Volunteers play an important role in supporting our initiatives. Opportunities may include research support, health education initiatives, communications and media work, data analysis, event support, and community outreach.
Previous roles have included:
The Foundation welcomes individuals who are passionate about contributing their skills and time to support pancreatic cancer awareness, research, and patient support initiatives. And if none of these quite fit, say so in the form — if you have time and interest, there is a place for you here.
Fill this in and press send — it opens a ready-to-send email to us with your answers in it. Nothing is submitted until you send that email.
Students and career-changers welcome. Several of our volunteers joined to build experience toward a goal — a program application, a new field, a first portfolio piece. Tell us the goal in the form, and we will try to shape the work so it counts toward it.
